AFTROSAMURAI Secrets List version 1.01 by J.C. Booth (MasterbatingBear)
Afro Samurai has 35 secrets that unlock the "Father's Legacy" of combos. All the secrets are a murder of black crows on the ground. When you approach them, the crows will fly away and the secret will register in your pause screen.
** For Xbox 360 owners, use X instead of SQUARE and Y instead of TRIANGLE.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------- Daimyo's Story --------------------------------------------------------------------------
-- Secret 1 -- On the bridge where you start.
-- Secret 2 -- After opening the main gate to the castle, you enter a large courtyard. Check the left side of that courtyard before entering the castle's inner keep.
-- Secret 3 -- Inside the castle, you will kick a switch to turn the hands on a large clock. This creates a bridge to allow you to progress. Cross the clockhand bridge to the next level of the keep. Once there, ignore the path Ninja Ninja leads to (goes to the elevator) and check the side gallery near the large clock. The secret should be near by.
-- Secret 4 -- At the top of the elevator (with the four kickable switches) there is a platform in the corner of the shaft. Visit that place before approaching the door to the next area, or you'll be sorry.
-- Secret 5 -- Halfway up the Dragon tower to the boss, there is a break in the stairs. This small side area leads to the secret.
-- Boss Tip -- Do a guard impact (guard as attack strikes your character) to deflect the attack, then follow-up with regular attacks.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------- School Invasion --------------------------------------------------------------------------
-- Secret 1 -- When the master orders you to split up and sound the alarm bell outside of the school, there is a fork in the path. Check the path where Ninja Ninja does not appear (he stands on the path to the training ground) and check that path for the secret.
-- Secret 2 -- At the training ground with the large banner in the center, there are archery targets arranged along two walls in two rows. Check the ends of one of the target rows (the crows stand out against the bright ground and should be easy to see).
-- Secret 3 -- Before closing the school's main gate, check the other side of the gate's wall (outside).
-- Secret 4 -- When attempting to rescue Otsuru (the girl in the pink kimono) the cut-scene will show you the secret. Grab it before doing the rescue, since you cannot come back inside.
-- Secret 5 -- On the sea rock path to rescue the master, there is a suspicious rock shaft that you can wall run on. Head up and find some rock pillars. One of the pillars has the secret.
-- Boss Tip -- Nothing hard. Just kill his ass.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------- Okiku's Story --------------------------------------------------------------------------
-- Secret 1 -- Outside Okiku's house (where you start) check the garden before following Okiku. It is the same area where you fight Brother Six at the end of the chapter.
-- Secret 2 -- At the end of the "fourth night", the map where Okiku meets the leaders of the Empty Seven, there is a forest path that goes under a bamboo bridge. This path leads to an abandoned house with the secret out in front.
-- Secret 3 -- In the section where you close the robot tunnels, stride the same path to the first tunnel as shown in the cut-scene. A secret is along that rocky path, directly under an overhanging tree branch (you cannot swing on this branch, it is only for show).
-- Secret 4 -- In the section where you close the robot tunnels, head for the second tunnel shown by the cut-scene. In the town, follow the city streets to their deadends. One of them near the robot tunnel has the secret.
-- Secret 5 -- In the section where you close the robot tunnels, head for the third tunnel shown by the cut-scene. The secret is on a rock ledge above the third and final robot tunnel.
-- Boss Tip -- Just run to the side and slash the boss. Jump to avoid the ground blast, but generally slashing him will defeat him.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------- Low Down East Pass --------------------------------------------------------------------------
-- Secret 1 -- At the quarry where you need to kick three cranes into the correct position, there is a secret on the ground near where the sniper is perched. You should look around for the crows (it isn't that hard to spot).
-- Secret 2 -- At the quarry with the two machineguns, there is a wooden wall that leads up the side of the quarry wall (near the first machinegun). A secret is on the high platform near the wooden shaft you used to get up there.
-- Secret 3 -- In the quarry with the numerous wooden walls and platforms and mine car tracks, check the quarry's ground level for this secret.
-- Secret 4 -- At the final quarry where the lady assassin (the Goddess of Ass putting both her asses in 'assassin'), there is a secret near one of the three ropes you need to cut.
-- Secret 5 -- Before the boss room, there is a secret perched on the goddess' statue's highest shoulder.
-- Boss Tip -- Turn on your controller's vibration (if you have a Sixaxis, you eyeball it). Use In-Focus Bullet Deflection (TRIANGLE) and deflect the bazooka shell four times to defeat the boss. If you think that's hard or b.s., you haven't seen anything yet. If your sword isn't to your side for the deflection, you are going to get hit. Go into Focus and hold the TRIANGLE key as soon as you hear the bazooka go "whoosh."
-------------------------------------------------------------------------- Doppelganger's Story --------------------------------------------------------------------------
-- Secret 1 -- Behind where you start, on a broken bridge.
-- Secret 2 -- After wall climbing the first broken elevator, there is a secret near the top of the elevator itself.
-- Secret 3 -- Kill the first sniper in this stage (with the pip-camera) and check the island he's standing on for this secret.
-- Secret 4 -- After fighting the Doppelganger on the second collapsing bridge, there will be three brawls (human, robot, finally human) on the cliff side. After clearing the third batch of suckers, don't go on yet. Check out the wooden platforms above the area you were fighting in previously. The secret is up there.
-- Secret 5 -- After wall climbing the second broken elevator, the secret is out in the open on the ice field (before the bridge).
-- Boss Tip -- The first time should be SQUARE (x1, 2, or 3 of you have the Easy Make Combo otherwise use x3), TRIANGLE (x4) to pop the guy up so you can follow up with a mid-air dice. The second time is more of a button mash (after getting close with the CROSS button). Remember the more skills you have earned, the larger the amount of life you have in reserve.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------- Kuma's Story --------------------------------------------------------------------------
-- Secret 1 -- As soon as you start, take the right path to the secret. You can get it before, after, or while fighting Kuma.
-- Secret 2 -- After the second or third encounter with Kuma, a secret will be plainly visible on the left side of the path amidst all those tombstones.
-- Secret 3 -- At the large snow arena where you fight Kuma (before going up the red tower), there is a secret on the edge of the arena. You can only get it after driving off Kuma (invisible wall). Get the secret before going up the red tower.
-- Secret 4 -- On the deck of the ship, along the side. Get it before climbing to the top of the ship to face Kuma.
-- Secret 5 -- On the deck of the ship, on the prow or the stern (can't really tell). Get it before climbing to the top of the ship to face Kuma.
-- Boss Tip -- Kuma is vulnerable only from behind (similar to Empty Seven's Number Six), but you can attack him after he finishes his attack combo or if he jumps up and lands trying to crush you (and misses). You can also use the pillar in the middle to foil his attacks so you can hit him on the side.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------- Empty Seven's Story --------------------------------------------------------------------------
-- Secret 1 -- The first room with the altar. Get the secret in the corner before going down in the elevator.
-- Secret 2 -- If you look at the sealed tunnel on the tower's ground level, the switch to the right takes you to the cube to fight Brother Six (big guy with the flamethrower and bazooka and staff spear and pain in the ass). The secret is near one of the tower's gears once you reach the entrance to the boss cube (but before entering it to fight Brother Six).
-- Secret 3 -- If you look at the sealed tunnel on the tower's ground level, the switch behind you takes you to the cube to fight a lot of peon enemies unleashed by Empty Seven's Brother Three (old guy with headphones). Along this path, the secret is on a lowered block just past the initial few bar swings (and out of plain sight unless you aim the camera down). If you keep traversing bars without exploring, you'll miss the secret easily.
-- Secret 4 -- If you look at the sealed tunnel on the tower's ground level, the switch to your left takes you to the cube to fight Empty Seven's Brother One (and his crap for nothing machinegun musket). Along this path, there is a secret where the first enemy encounter occurs. Check near the doors that spawn enemies.
-- Secret 5 -- If you look at the sealed tunnel on the tower's ground level, the switch to your left takes you to the cube to fight Empty Seven's Brother One (and his crap for nothing machinegun musket). Along this path, the final secret is at the entrance to the boss cube, but before you enter the boss room.
-- Boss Tip -- Against Brother Six, simply attack him from behind. If he is turning faster than you can go behind, slip by him on his left (your right). You will have just enough clearance to land hits on his side or back and kill him. For the Empty Seven with the rifle, you need to time the SQUARE Bullet Reflection to the enemy and kill him. Like the fight against the bazooka armed Brother Six, you need to have your sword to your side otherwise, you will have failed the deflection. Go into Focus and hold SQUARE just before he shoots to get your reflection attack right.
