MLB 2k11 Batting Tips

mlb2k11 batting tips

Welcome to Gamewisdom's MLB 2k11 Batting tips. This article is aimed to help you get the hits and the home runs you will need to win games. Power hitting, timing, camera angles, and patience are some of the key components to hitting well in MLB 2k11. After reading his article you should learn how to hit home runs in MLB2k11. I hope you enjoy the tips and the extra hits that come a long.

Batting tips:

1.) Patience: While you are up at the plate patience is key. As a rule of thumb I normally don't swing at the first pitch unless the whole batters square lights up, the pitcher has been throwing strikes every first pitch, or I know for a fact that the ball is heading down the middle. When I have a power hitter up I try to be even more patient. Wait on a good pitch until you get 2 strikes, and then its time to protect the plate and just try and get a contact hit.

2.)Use contact swings when behind in the count: When you have two strikes you usually don't want to be swinging for the fences. Try and hit the joystick to the left or the right to try and fight off pitches that are close to the plate but could be balls. If you keep doing this eventually the pitcher will walk you or throw a pitch that you can hit.

3.) Aim to whichever side of the plate the ball is thrown to: I find this helps best when you are swinging for contact. If the ball is on the left side of the plate then push the left joystick to the left a and swing the bat and vice-versa.

4.) Change Camera Settings- BATTING: Camera: Batter 2, Zoom:10 Height 5, Pitching Zoom: ON: This is my preferred camera angle. For me it helps to see whether the ball is going to be in the strike zone or not. If you don't like this setting then just continue trying out different variations until you find one that works for you.

5.) Timing takes practice: Every game you will be facing different pitchers with different pitches.  To be able to get decent hits you will need to learn the timing on the fly, meaning every game, every pitcher, you will have to switch up the timing. Once you get good at recognizing pitches and pitch speed it will be easier to time your hits. The only way to do this is to practice.

6.) HOW TO POWER HIT: Power hitting is what wins you games. With the power hit you can hit doubles, triples, home runs, singles you name it. I have a tactic that seems to work pretty good for power hitting. Right when the pitcher lets go of the ball you pull the right joystick back. Then right away you are going to have to tell if its going to be a strike or if its a ball . With good hitters you will get an idea because of the sides that light up on the batters box.  Also you will get the hang of being able to tell if its going to be a fastball, change up, if its in the strike zone but its going to drop below. All this takes practice but game after game you will get better. So just make sure right when the pitcher releases the ball to pull back and then its all up to you to get the timing right on when to swing depending on what type of pitch  it is and the location.

Reading tips isn't going to make you an all-star, but practicing tips will. Take these tips and try to apply them to your game. If you were a bad hitter and this doesn't help you get better hits more often then I'm sorry but I don't think anything will.
